Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is admitted to Jinnah Hospital for the treatment of his heart-related problem, will undergo angiography. PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz accompanied with other members of Sharif family, including wife of Hasan Nawaz visited Jinnah Hospital to have update about the health of her ailing father.

Talking informally to the media, Maryam said her father would have to undergo angiography. She also requested people to offer prayers for her father. Sources claimed that the medical board of Jinnah Hospital has sent medical reports and necessary recommendations to the Punjab home department.

Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College Dr Arif Tajammul told the media that they have finalised their action plan for the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. "All necessary facilities are available at Jinnah Hospital and Nawaz Sharif can be extended medical treatment there," he said.

Dr Arif Tajammul said: "Nawaz will remain in the hospital till further orders from the prison administration. On February 16, Nawaz's reports have been sent and today a final report will be made." Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital Dr Asim Hameed told media persons that medical reports of Nawaz Sharif cannot be shared with the media. He said more tests are being conducted.

To a query, he said that Dr Adnan, who is family physician of Nawaz Sharif, cannot be inducted in the medical board as he is not a government officer. Security arrangements have been beefed up in and around Jinnah Hospital. At least 27 areas near the hospital have been declared highly sensitive by the police.

Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif and former premier's relative Mian Munir visited the hospital to enquire after the health of Nawaz Sharif. They remained with Nawaz Sharif for some time and discussed other matters. Shahbaz said on the occasion that Nawaz Sharif is facing heart problem and his immediate treatment is needed.

Shahbaz said that Nawaz Sharif was not satisfied with the medical treatment he was being provided at a local hospital. Shahbaz had also a detailed talk with the medical board of the hospital during which Shahbaz was briefed on the tests Nawaz underwent recently. "Nawaz is not being looked after properly," the PML-N president claimed.

This is for the second time in February that Nawaz has been moved to a medical facility. On February 2, Nawaz was shifted to Services Hospital on the advice of a special medical board which recommended his admission to a multidisciplinary health facility for several checkups. Later, Shahbaz Sharif visited Data Darbar. He offered prayers on the occasion and also laid a floral wreath on the mazar of great saint of the sub-continent.
